DESCRIPTION:
DEAR Day marks the anniversary of the birthday of scholastic author Beverly Cleary on April 12, 1916. She was the first person to write about the concept of DEAR, that is, Drop Everything And Read, in her sixth book of the Romona series, age 8, in 1981.
Sponsored by the American Library Association, DEAR Day encourages parents to set aside time every day to read with their children.
